It’s best to schedule an in-person visit if you’re unsure it’s time for a service upgrade. Some signs you might need one include flickering lights throughout the home, tripping breakers, or that you just don’t have enough power available for adding more circuits to your system.

Service upgrades generally take a full day to complete. The home will be without power for the entire duration, so plan accordingly. We pull permits on all service replacements, so an inspector for your area will come out to review the work done and we will make any necessary adjustments in order to pass inspection. Once inspection is passed, the utility company will come back out to reconnect power.

That all depends on how much unused electrical capacity you have! In some cases it is possible, but to know for sure would require a site visit to take a look at everything. We do offer load calculations in advance of recommending service upgrades with EV chargers.
